Yr Hen Ysgubor Reviews

Jacki
Loved our stay at this beautiful barn conversion. The property was so clean and comfortable and very welcoming. Lovely little touches like the doggie items , the welcome basket and a great coffee machine. The shower was great too and we were lovely and cosy at all times. The views from the barn were amazing and there were plenty of dog walks on the doorstep. Our first time visiting this area and we will be back !
Michael
This is a delightful cottage, very comfy with everything you want for a stay. Nice view out of the patio doors. The hosts allowed me to take my dog in to their field through a gate at top of garden. Nice walks are to be found with help from the hosts.
Lesley
This little barn conversation was an absolute joy to have stayed in. Stacey and Alister have lovingly restored this property and thought about everything you would ever want or need while staying there. From the welcome hamper to the little things like doggie blankets and towels in case you forget to bring your own. The interior has been renovated to an extremely high standard. The bed was so comfortable and the bed lining a good quality. The location was so peaceful and quiet. Iâ??d read other reviews that said the entrance was difficult to negotiate we had no problem getting to the property or up the driveway you just have to be mindful you are in the country and the roads are narrow in places. The surrounding area and proximity to some lovely beaches just made it perfect for us and our two dogs to stay.
Ann
What a fabulous holiday cottage, one of the best we have stayed in. Beautifully thought out, well equipped, warm and cosy. The location is wonderful and so so quiet (heaven). Thank you Stacey and Alistair for sharing this little gem with us. We will see you next year!
Vanessa
Beautiful, quiet location with amazing views
Stephanie
This cottage is in a superb location, peaceful and beautiful. There are walks from the door plus many beaches locally. We thought the dog friendly garden was brilliant, It was secure and prevented two very inquisitive springer spaniels from getting onto the hillside. The information provided by the owners was very comprehensive. Could not fault the property at all
Phil
Brilliantly equipped cottage in beautiful quiet location. Sea views from lovely gardens which catch the evening sun - ideal relaxing place after a day on the beach or walking the coast. The bakery in Aberdaron is a must!
Michael
The cottage is a barn conversion adjoing owners property, the stone walls are a metre thick so No noise, it is extremley well equiped and such a wonderful place to stay, its a country road to it, because its in the country so drive careful to it, but it will be worth it.
Kristiana
Cottage us beautifully done snd decorated. Location and views are amazing! Cottage has all that's needed - parking, wifi, privacy, and secure garden (dog loved it!). Kitchen has all necessities including appliances and day to day items needed. Living area is cosy, TV has what's needed, fireplace is great and there are books and games available. Bedroom is a great size, bed comfortable and the bathroom is a great size too! Owners live next door and are lovely, so is their dog. Location of the cottage is great for walks, hiking, trips to towns and beaches! Everything is nearby. Would definitely recommend!
Nicola
The cottage and garden are absolutely lovely. A lot of thought and attention to detail have obviously gone into getting everything exactly right. We had an extremely relaxing stay and would love to come back.
Jane
The quality of the refurbishment of Yr Hen Ysgubor is beyond compare to any other property that i have stayed in. The owners have strived to cater for every possible need of their guests. The location provides an excellent stepping off point for people who like to walk and explore the fabulous Welsh mountain areas and beaches. Alternatively, the views from the rear garden would impress and occupy less active guests.
Lynn
A lovely, well presented and well equipped cottage with welcoming but unobtrusive owners. The views from the garden were good and a little further up the hill spectacular. The cottage provided an excellent base for our two weeks on the Llyn.
Margaret

The owners have really thought about every aspect needed to give their guests a truly wonderful stay. The log fire is very efficient. The TV and internet reception is brilliant also. The owners also left us a very thoughtful welcome pack. It is light and airy and is very private and so peaceful. This cottage is also perfect for your dog to stay as it has a very secure private garden. The views from this cottage are stunning and far reaching. A superb barn conversion, everything is of the highest quality and fits perfectly to create the most perfect cosy get away. The views are breathtaking, particularly if you wander further up the hill. We have stayed in a lot of rentals over the years and this is up there with the very best. Stacey & Al were great for recommending places to eat and visit. We hope to be back.
David

We spent a very enjoyable 4-night break at Yr Hen Ysgubor. The cottage is in a lovely quiet location, with great views and walks from the doorstep. It is very comfortable, well-equipped, and tastefully decorated. Stacey and Alistair, the owners next door, are friendly and helpful.
Matt
Great place to stay - clean, modern and well furnished accommodation, warm fire burner and an excellent, dog friendly location for scenic walks, glorious and quiet beaches (in March anyway) and decent pubs. Host is very friendly and helpful with recommendations.
Nikki
We went for a long weekend in Feb - perfect location and extremely dog friendly for our dog. The cottage was very homely and had everything we needed The shower was amazing, we have been to a lot of cottages that are remote and the water heat and pressure have been poor - this was better than any hotel we have been too. Great views even when it was cloudy. The drive way is a little tight so take care until you are used to it. We have an estate car so needed some careful manoeuvring. Would definitely recommend for peace and quiet, great location for seeing all of the peninsula.
Edmund
A beautiful and well-equipped cottage, we had a great winter break here!
Kevin
An exceptionally lovely place to stay. Beautiful location. Had everything we needed on our winter holiday. It was particularly nice to just relax with a good book in front of the wood burner.

We had an amazing week at Al and Staceyâ??s cottage. The cottage was meticulously clean and the welcome pack was thoughtfully put together including a treat for our dog. The cottage enjoys beautiful views from the living room and garden, which has access to a foot path which was perfect for walking our dog on each morning and evening. The cottage is quiet and secluded yet only 7 miles from Abersoch and other local villages. The cottage is well appointed with a great shower and all the facilities in the kitchen that you could want including a nespresso machine.
