Slate Trail Retreat is a riverside stone cottage sitting in the heart of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park in Betws-y-Coed, North Wales. The famous Slate Trail passes right by the property you can literally step outside and start walking. The rear garden has open mountain views across the national park and there are rivers and mountains on all sides.

This is proper outdoor country. Penmachno Mountain Bike Trails are 2.5 miles away. The Conwy waterfalls are 5.5 miles. Zip World Betws-y-Coed is 8.5 miles. The coast at Harlech is around 20 miles. It's a brilliant base for hikers, cyclists and families who want to be outside.

The cottage sleeps 6 across three bedrooms: a king-size master, a double and a bunk room for children. There's one family bathroom with a bath, shower over the bath and WC. The ground floor is an open-plan farmhouse-style lounge, kitchen and dining space with a wood burner.

Betws-y-Coed village is 7.6 miles away. Zip World Betws-y-Coed (8.5 miles, 15 mins), Swallow Falls (6 miles, 12 mins), Conwy Castle (18 miles, 25 mins) and Bodnant Garden (20 miles, 30 mins) are all worth the trip.

Slate Trail Retreat suits active families and dog owners perfectly. Up to three dogs are welcome and the enclosed garden is safe for children and pets. No hot tub but everything else delivers.
