Caer Ffynnon Reviews

Kim
Fantastic remote bungalow, yet close to all amenities. We walked our dogs across the big entrance field daily and only met another person once. Will definitely be back. Everything needed was provided. There was occassionally sheep in the small adjoining field, but they moved on when they saw our dogs, who really weren't interested in them. We have a 4x4 so going up the track over the field was not an issue, but it could prove challenging for some vehicles. Close enough to everything for food and sightseeing. Good internet too and heating so we didn't need to use the log burner.

We had a lovely week in the cottage and found everything to be immaculately clean and tidy. It was easy to see that a lot of thought had gone into making it feel like a proper home from home. The kitchen was large and very well equipped. We enjoyed the welcome pack, I am now addicted to Welsh cakes which are delicious. The views and sunsets from the cottage were beautiful. As well as being such a peaceful location it was also a great base for exploring further afield. Our two dogs (small spaniels) settled in easily and the garden was secure for them. Cae'r Ffynnon is one of the nicest holiday cottages we have stayed in and we hope to be able to visit again in the future. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable.
Joanne
Lovely cottage in beautiful surroundings. We booked for a weekend break but would definitely like to return to the cottage and North Wales.
Phil
The cottage was brilliant. Itâ??s located in the country and your only neighbours are sheep and cows. Very comfy and well equipped. We only stayed 3 nights but wish we could have stayed longer. Weâ??ll be back.
Ann
We came to the cottage to chill my daughter and I. Her Graduation from Bangor Uni occuring at the end of the week it seemed a great place to base ourselves and our rather reactive rescue dog Shadow. This cottage is in an extraordinairily beautiful spot, cannot stress that enough. Surrounded by wildlife we felt privileged to see a great spotted woodpecker, housemartins nesting in the eaves, goldfinches, stonechats, wrens, swallows, songthrushes, meadow pippits, hares and more. We watched flocks of sheep being driven to be shorn and brought back up past the cottage several times witnessing the dogs working with the drivers. We walked up the track on a circular 5.5 km walk ending up on part of the North Wales Pigrims way, without having to drive anywhere. Perfect!
Wendy
This cottage is very remote and accessed through two farm gates via a field of sheep! It was awesome and we loved the quiet location and amazing views looking across to Anglesey and straight over Penrhyn Castle. It's only a short drive up the hill from the expressway on a very narrow lane. It was perfect for us and our slightly noisy dogs, as for once they didn't have anything to bark at!! Would highly recommend if you want a quiet holiday.
Amanda
Clean tidy lovely cottage in an idyllic setting. Responsive and helpful hosts. Thanks for a lovely stay
Stephen
billiant cottage which was very clean and well equiped. lovely views.i am disabled and every thing wonderful until i needed to shower. i cannot stand for long so a shower chair would be brilliant.
Brian
Lovely private location and waking up every morning with views across the Menai Strait could not be better. We really enjoyed our two weeks stay.
Louisa
Cottage is both spacious and cosy with fabulous views. Great location for exploring Snowdonia and Anglesey and short 10 min drive to Bangor with many supermarkets and shops. We loved the sheep and cows in surrounding fields. Lovely walks from the doorstep. We were all sad to leave at the end of the week.
Joanna
Beautiful location overlooking Anglesey and the sea. Comfortable cottage with good facilities. Great location for exploring all the area has to offer but remote enough for a very peaceful break. Our only disappointment was the 5 pm check in which we didnâ??t realise when we booked.
Mark
We enjoyed our stay in this lovely cottage. Fantastic views. Didn't like the single track roads.
Mattie
A very nice place for a holiday in beautiful Wales. Especially the kitchen, with large windows, where you can enjoy the sun by day and sunsets at evening. The views are stunnishing. The grounds are fenced so dogs stay safe. It is a truly silent place and both Anglesey and the Mountains are nearby.
Chris
Perfect location to enjoy the quietude of the countryside and watch the sunset over the Mennai. Easy access to all the wonderful castles and mountains in the area. The last little section you need to drive to get to the cottage is through a field gate and is a little rutted.
Diane
Lovely cottage, very comfortable and quiet. Great views over to Anglesey & lovely countryside.
Dee
Situated off track surrounded by the wildlife and farm animals which is lovely. Good size cottage with plenty of room the bedrooms and the kitchen is well stocked and decent for cooking. It got cold in the evening and the cottage heating was lovely and efficient in keeping the place cosy. Shower is hot and powerful. Close by to lots of places so a useful base to explore Wales.
Sean
Really superb location, quiet, no neighbours, clean, comfy beds, had everything we needed, easy assessable to tourist attractions. Recommended.
Sarah
A beautiful cottage in a quite remote location with great views towards Bangor and the Menai straits. This is a great base to explore north Wales and Anglesey, has the feeling of 'getting away from it all' but only 15 minutes from shops and amenities of Bangor, and 5 mins from the A55 expressway. The house is nicely refurbished and warm with a log burner, and good for people with dogs. There is a large sitting room and there are lovely views from the dining area in the kitchen. The two gates to the property are slightly awkward to open, needing two people, and the garden nice but not completely dog-proof, so care needs to be taken due to the flocks of sheep in proximity. The Wifi in the house is functional but patchy. Overall though, we had a really nice time there and would recommend.
